In collaboration with Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) and The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP®), The German Energy Academy in Jordan is pleased to announce the launch of the “NABCEP ® Photovoltaic Associate (PVA)” course in Jordan for the first time.

This course is designed to prepare trainees for accreditation by The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP®); Trainees will acquire # the practical skills needed for the labour market in related fields and enable them to enter the North American labour market, including the accreditation exam to be held after completion of the course at the Academy site, so that successful trainees will receive an American certificate issued by NABCEP.

Target Groups:

1- Energy engineers from the labour market with at least 3 years’ experience.

2- Students of Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) provided that they passed the PV Systems course at the university with a grade of excellent, and seek practical training in the field of solar systems.

The number of seats is limited by 20 seats for this course, which will be given free of charge with the support of the German Energy Academy in Jordan for the first time.

Also, Successful trainees will be exempt from the fees for this course, noting that the cost of the American Certificate Qualifying Exam is $150.

Participation Requirements:

Background in solar systems including electrical, electronic and mechanical aspects, and dealing with legislative requirements, coding and practical experience.

Dr. Abdelrahman Al-Attili – Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering/Faculty of Technological Engineering at Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), Amman, Jordan; Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at University of Southampton, United Kingdom.

  1. Applications of photovoltaic systems.
  2. The economic aspect and the future of photovoltaic power.
  3. The fundamentals of designing PV systems according to US standards.
  4. Requirements and methods of installing electro-power systems.
  5. The basics of operation and maintenance.

The course runs for 10 days from Sunday to Thursday (10/2/2022 to 10/12/2022)

The place is: The German Energy Academy in Jordan -Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), Building 17, No-203 – King Hussein Business Park.

Evaluation criteria

The qualification certificate for the NABCEPC exam is given based on the attendance of at least 80% of the total course time and success in the evaluations given during the course.

NABCEP PVA certification is awarded based on passing the final exam (multiple choices), so that the evaluation is based on NABCEP’s criteria of success which can be found on their website.

Cost:

It costs $500 fully covered through the # grant provided by the German Energy Academy in Jordan and the cost of the exam ($150) is returned to those who pass the final exam and receive the NABCEP PVA certificate.
