We are pleased to share with you the opening of the energy efficiency programme offered by the German Energy Academy in Jordan at the German Jordanian University, with the support of the Jordanian German Energy Partnership Office and in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).

At the opening, Prof. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, the President of the University, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy, Amani Al-Azam, pointed out the importance of this programme in refining the skills of energy workers and giving them practical knowledge in order to find suitable job opportunities.

Prof. Al-Halhouli stated that the Academy came to bring together and organize efforts among specialized bodies, which is in line with the University’s vision and strategy of building partnerships and serving the local community through directing its programmes to serve national priorities.

For his part, Dr. Ayman Bataineh -the project coordinator for the German Jordanian University- noted that the programme was prepared for being accredated by the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK), where participants will acquire the practical skills required to enter the labour market as certified technicians and engineers in the field of energy efficiency, management and energy auditing.

During the training programme, participants will be trained theoretically and practically on the topics of energy efficiency and its pyramid, electrical tariff, energy consumption control, challenges and constraints to energy efficiency, and others to enable them at the end of the programme to master the auditing and managing energy according to the Jordan National Qualifications Framework.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Qasem Abdelal, the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Resources and its management, and representatives of the Amman Chamber of Industry, the German Corporation for International Cooperation, and the National Electric Power co.

We note that the programme will be for two months from Sunday to Thursday each week from 7/24/2022 to 9/17/2022 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

First part of the programme: German Jordanian University – Ma ‘adba West Street – Mushkar – Amman.

Second part of the Programme: German Energy Academy in Jordan, Al Hussein Technical University, Building 15, N-203, King Hussein Business Park.
